KLAS finds health system IT decisions increasingly shaped by perceived vendor partnership quality

Epic Systems surged ahead in the U.S. acute care EHR market in 2024, marking its largest net hospital gain on record, while Oracle Health posted a net loss, as confidence in its customer relationships continues to lag. These are among the key findings in the latest KLAS Research report on acute care EHR market share, which examined 2024 hospital EHR decisions across the country.

The report said a total of 272 hospitals were affected by new EHR decisions in 2024, down from 319 the previous year. While the overall pace of purchases slowed slightly, the outcomes were more decisive, especially for large health systems.
