Epic revealed several new data-sharing features at an interoperability conference Sept. 25 at its Wisconsin headquarters.

Over 745 billion data exchanges happened in the past year using Epic’s publicly available application programming interfaces, or APIs, the EHR vendor said.

Here are seven new Epic interoperability features discussed at the Open@Epic meeting attended by nearly 1,000 experts, according to a Sept. 25 news release:

1. MyChart Central, set to be rolled out nationwide later this year, allows for a single sign-on across patients’ MyChart accounts.

2. Epic now supports the new Bluetooth Generic Health Sensor specification, connecting home devices...
