As health systems double down on patient-centric strategies, many are consolidating engagement technologies while reevaluating their vendor partners to reduce friction, enhance communication, and align with rising consumer expectations.

The latest KLAS report, based on interviews with 67 healthcare organizations—mostly large acute care providers—shows that patient access and digital front door initiatives remain the top investment priorities. In 2025, 53% of respondents cited patient access as a leading focus, up slightly from 48% in 2023. Communication tools also rose in importance, with one in three organizations prioritizing platforms that support timely, personalized engagement.
