According to a post on both urgent care EMR vendors’ websites, the combined company will continue to support DocuTAP’s and Practice Velocity’s platforms and will offer solutions for consulting, patient engagement and teleradiology to the shared clients.

Two organizations working in the urgent care space — DocuTAP, an EMR and practice management software company, and Practice Velocity, which has EMR software and billing services — intend to merge.

The news was revealed in an announcement posted on both organizations’ websites.

The merger is still pending regulatory approval. Until the deal closes, the companies will continue to operate as separate entities.
