Elon Musk’s AI firm xAI has purchased X, formerly Twitter in a $33 billion deal announced Friday.

Musk, who bought X for $44 billion in 2022, says the acquisition includes xAI and X’s “data, models, compute, distribution and talent.”

According to Musk, the move will “unlock immense potential by blending xAI’s advanced AI capability and expertise with X’s massive reach.”

“The combined company will deliver smarter, more meaningful experiences to billions of people while staying true to our core mission of seeking truth and advancing knowledge,” Musk wrote in a post on X outlining the deal.
