A new report from KLAS reveals that one-third of physicians participating in its Arch Collaborative continue to report burnout, with more than half citing the EHR as a contributor. However, organizations that adopt structured improvements to EHR infrastructure, training, governance, and personalization see significant gains in physician satisfaction and retention.

Burnout, Retention, and the Cost of Inaction

According to the report, 56% of burned-out physicians attribute part of their stress to the EHR. Of that group, one in three say they are likely to leave their organization within two years. Currently, physician replacement costs are estimated between $500,000 and $1 million.
