Laws and policies prohibiting the discussion of what the first Trump administration in 2020 labeled “divisive concepts” hamper efforts to discuss, teach, and use the best and most state-of-the-art science to understand and improve US population health and health equity in the context of a growing body of literature on the science of racism and its effects on health.
