I am going to be clear: as a physician in the U.S., I am terrified. There is no sugar-coating what is happening at the highest levels of our federal government. The administration’s vaccine policies, led by Health and Human Services Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr., are extremely dangerous.
Childhood vaccination recommendations are being rolled back without new or emerging evidence to challenge longstanding guidance. Kennedy is injecting conspiracy theories about autism’s link to vaccines and other disproven pseudoscience into one of the most rigorously studied domains in modern medicine. In his confirmation hearings, Kennedy made a promise to GOP lawmakers, including physicians, and the American public that he would not radically alter the current vaccine approval and safety monitoring systems....
