Nearly half of healthcare organizations experienced a cybersecurity incident in the past year, and financial losses from those attacks are climbing sharply, according to a Sept. 18 report from Netwrix, a cybersecurity provider focused on data and identity threats.

Here are five things to know from the report:

  1. The survey found 48% of healthcare organizations reported at least one incident in the last 12 months.
  2. Nineteen percent said they lost more than $200,000, up from 5% in 2024. Losses of more than $500,000 also rose, from 2% last year to 12% this year.
