The representatives said they’re optimistic about the legislation’s forward movement, given President-Elect Joe Biden’s support for the 21st Century Cures Act when he was last in the White House.

U.S. Reps. Diana DeGette, D-Colo., and Fred Upton, R-Mich., say they’re optimistic about the time line of the next iteration of the landmark 21st Century Cures Act.

In an interview with Politico’s Dan Diamond for the 2020 Future of Health Summit, the policymakers said they hoped “Cures 2.0” will include modernizations to the U.S. Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services and a stronger emphasis on digital health advancements.

The 21st Century Cures Act, said DeGette, was a “very broad bill.”
