Today, Change is a noun, verb, ubiquitous, essential, and practically an element on the periodic table. It is nimble enough to transcend any scale from legendary to destructive. Today, change in healthcare is restless, going in all directions, and demanding attention. But, notably, change also provides the potential to create Information. That Information affords opportunities to progress and partner with Improvement – making Information the most powerful currency in Healthcare!

Welcome to 2024! How would you define the role of AI and Technology in Healthcare today? Also, what will be its impact on Leadership throughout the industry?

A few challenges to consider include:

  • Inspiration, innovation, transformation, and change do not always align perfectly.
  • Ample internal structure and process adjustments will be required to positively impact outcomes.
  • A learning curve is required for staff, leadership, patients, and the community.
  • How will you concisely define and delineate the role of AI and technology?
  • Where might it require more attention interfacing across specialties, services, situations, other healthcare organizations, or locations?
  • What considerations must be implemented regarding safe, timely, efficient, effective, equitable, and patient-centered care?
  • How well does it work with various clinicians or caregivers?

Some other considerations for 2024 include:

  • Embracing and facilitating a continuous information and learning environment across the organization and associates.
  • Empowering consumers with personal health, digital devices, data, and knowledge.
  • Designing, developing, and deploying a digitally enabled, data-driven, easily accessible Healthcare Ecosystem.
  • Collectively utilizing and integrating community resources to positively impact health, equity, and health for all.
  • Reinventing Primary Care to design and promote optimal health awareness of individuals.
