On November 29, 2018, the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) released four new waiver concepts designed to help states understand some options for pursuing a Section 1332 waiver under the Affordable Care Act (ACA). The waiver concepts were announced by CMS Administrator Seema Verma while speaking to state legislators, local government leaders, and other stakeholders at an American Legislative Exchange Council summit in Washington DC. The waiver concepts follow new guidance on Section 1332 waivers that CMS released late last month.
