CMS’ playbook to leverage artificial intelligence in agency operations is in limbo in the wake of several actions by the Trump administration, Robert reports.

The agency released its playbook in 2022 on how to adopt AI tools for any employees, partners or vendors. The playbook served as a how-to manual for designing “principles, best practices and step-by-step instructions on building mission-critical, trustworthy AI solutions,” according to a fact sheet.

The agency sought to use AI to help identify health disparities, among other tasks. The Biden administration made tackling health disparities a key priority.
