City of Hope, a fast-growing chain of cancer treatment centers, has launched a national cancer clinical trial network designed to improve oncology care and reach medically-underserved areas of the country.

City of Hope, which earlier this month opened a new hospital in Orange County, Calif., now has a network of five specialized oncology hospitals across the country and 38 clinical trial sites, an expansion executives say benefits thousands of patients with cancer care but also potentially new treatments that save lives.

With the development of its centralized research hub that launched, City of Hope says trials are open “across a digitally connected, multi-state network so that enrollment and access aren’t dictated by geography.” City of Hope already has nearly 40...
