ChristianaCare hires a chief wellbeing officer, and other leaders take new roles.

Alejandro Quiroga, MD, has been named the new chief executive officer of Children’s Mercy Kansas City.

A pediatric nephrologist, Quiroga will begin his new role on Jan. 2, 2025. He has been serving as president of Corewell Health West in the Corewell Health system in Michigan.

Diane Gallagher, chair of the board of directors at Children’s Mercy, described Quiroga as an ‘inspiring leader with a strong research mindset.” He emerged as the clear choice in the system’s search for a new leader.
