Last month, President Trump directed federal health officials to reconsider the entire United States childhood vaccine schedule by reviewing “best practices” in other developed countries. Some of these countries have fewer vaccines on their lists of recommendations and give them at different times. But overall, childhood vaccine schedules among most U.S. peers differ only slightly. Where key policy differences have emerged is that unlike in the U.S. public health officials in peer nations aren’t making false assertions about vaccines and sowing doubt among the public.
