As a precaution, the CDC is urging U.S. healthcare organizations to reinforce Ebola preparedness protocols amid a newly confirmed outbreak in Uganda.

The outbreak, caused by the Sudan virus, was declared Jan. 29 after a 32-year-old nurse tested positive and later died.

While the U.S. has not identified any suspected or confirmed cases, the CDC said travelers from affected areas may pose transmission risks.

The agency is emphasizing vigilance among public health departments, healthcare facilities and clinical laboratories...
