As the population of dual eligible individuals increases across the country, state investment in health and social systems that provide high-quality integrated care is critical to meet the needs of this diverse population. Success depends on routine stakeholder outreach and engagement in policy making. California’s decade-long commitment to enhancing high quality, coordinated care for dual eligible individuals has involved robust stakeholder engagement and been successful in establishing innovative person-centered policies for those enrolled in integrated care.
