It may seem hard to believe, but it’s been over four years since the COVID-19 pandemic ground our world to a halt, forcing us indoors and apart, and ultimately changing the way we live.

It’s hard to pinpoint the true “end” of the pandemic. The World Health Organization declared an end to the related to COVID-19 on May 5, 2023, while the United States followed suit a week later on May 11. But the lingering effects of COVID-19 still exist.

For some, those lingering effects are mere nuisances—it’s just another illness that has the potential to make you feel terrible for a few days.
