Everyone has made it home from the biotech Woodstock known as the 37th Annual JPMorgan Healthcare Conference.

This year, in particular, was controversial, given the stark contrast of the glitz of the conference (dazzling scientific presentations and jubilant receptions) set against the dark backdrop of the homeless and poor throughout San Francisco.

We have a lot of work to do before we have healthcare for all.

The conference was exciting for me, personally, because it was the first year I presented at the conference — a moment which has signaling value akin to winning the Oscars. It also gave me a chance to reflect on 2018.
