Humana’s chief executive said the company will add another 270,000 to 330,000 seniors to its Medicare Advantage plans in 2020 on top of the “more than a half million” added in 2019 as more seniors flock to private plans that contract with the government for their health benefits.

Humana CEO Bruce Broussard Wednesday said the growth in Medicare Advantage will represent 7.5% to 9.2% growth over 2019.” Broussard said the growth was in line with what the rest of the health insurance industry is experiencing and comes at a time the government is allowing such health plans to offer more supplemental benefits.
