Apple’s iOS 11.3 Electronic Health Record initiative ‘might be overhyped’

Apple’s new electronic health record feature in iOS 11.3 “might be overhyped,” Politico said recently, citing a Capitol Hill briefing by the American Medical Informatics Association. Though at least 39 health systems have already adopted the record-sharing feature, praising its ease-of-use for both patients and health care providers, the AMIA’s briefing suggested that current limitations mean that it’s “just the first step in making patient records easier to access.”
