Apple released a report Wednesday (July 20) highlighting how its devices are offering actionable health insights to users while also supporting the medical community by providing information for research and care.

According to the new report, users, developers, medical institutions and health organizations worldwide are tapping devices, features and application programming interfaces (APIs) to “break down barriers between people and their health information,” while also keeping privacy top of mind.

“We believe passionately that technology can play a role in improving health outcomes and encouraging people to live a healthier day,” Jeff Williams, Apple’s chief operating officer, said in a press release.
