AMD just announced the acquisition of Silo AI, the largest private AI lab in Europe. The companies have signed a definitive agreement for AMD to acquire Silo AI in an all-cash transaction valued at approximately $665 million.

AMD has seen tremendous growth in the last year, with its Instinct MI300 family of AI accelerators ramping to approximately $1B fast than any other product in the company’s history. Although that growth is obviously a welcome development, AMD remains somewhat constrained in terms of its AI skillset within the company.
