Amazon’s newly rebuilt Alexa+ represents a significant shift toward agentic AI, according to Wired. The article reports that Amazon redesigned Alexa around generative AI to move beyond scripted commands and toward autonomous task execution. This rearchitecture required solving complex integration challenges across tens of thousands of devices and services, as well as combining multiple large language models into a coordinated system capable of sustained, natural conversation.
