About 2,000 employees under Allina Health are scheduled to join the ranks of Optum starting in May, as part of a ten-year revenue cycle management agreement.

Allina Health is a nonprofit hospital providing care for patients in Minnesota and western Wisconsin across 12 hospital campuses, more than 90 clinics, 14 retail pharmacies, and same-day and urgent care centers.

As part of a new “strategic relationship,” Optum, a for-profit organization that manages the health services and technology division of health insurance company UnitedHealth Group, will begin managing the health system’s revenue cycle management operations to streamline billing and integrate AI and other new technologies to improve patient and provider experiences.
