Due in part to the COVID-19 pandemic, Americans have widely and rapidly embraced consumer-directed healthcare apps and devices to monitor their wellness – either in lieu of or in conjunction with professional medical interactions. Market analysts report a precipitous rise in the popularity of connected health and wellness devices from just one year earlier, with a reported $6.7 billion invested in the first quarter of 2021, up from $3.1 billion invested in the first quarter of 2020.
