Epic and Cerner are the only two EHR vendors that offer live artificial intelligence capabilities, but Allscripts and Meditech are developing platforms for their client bases, according to KLAS Research.

For its Healthcare EMR AI 2020 report, KLAS examined customer satisfaction with EHR vendors’ AI solutions and progress with developing capabilities. Here are four updates on Epic, Cerner, Meditech and Allscripts’ AI platforms, according to KLAS:

1. Epic is the only EHR vendor whose AI platform has enough live customers to gauge a customer satisfaction score, which is 86.8 based on a 100-point scale. Most of Epic’s AI customers are “out-of-the-box” users, meaning they use prebuilt machine learning models from Epic’s Model Library.
