PHILADELPHIA — Researchers have developed an artificial intelligence (AI) tool capable of detecting and differentiating cystic and solid pancreatic lesions during endoscopic ultrasound (EUS) with high accuracy.

This was a transatlantic collaborative effort involving researchers in Portugal, Spain, the United States, and Brazil, and the AI tool “works on different platforms and different devices,” Miguel Mascarenhas, MD, PhD, with Centro Hospitalar Universitário de São João, Porto, Portugal, said in a presentation on October 28 at the American College of Gastroenterology (ACG) 2024 Annual Scientific Meeting.
