The American Hospital Association lobbied Congress to address several systemic behavioral health issues.

The AHA requests that the House Committee on Energy and Commerce consider several actions in addition to renewing the Substance Use-Disorder Prevention that Promotes Opioid Recovery and Treatment for Patients and Communities Act of 2018 (SUPPORT Act).

The organization requested that the committee address psychiatric and behavioral health care payment, administrative burdens, regulatory burdens, and workforce development.
