THE HOUSE’S HEALTH CARE DILEMMA — Two dueling proposals to ease rising health care costs failed to pass out of the Senate on Thursday. Now, the House is under even more pressure to find a fix.

The House is expected to vote on a health care package next week, and GOP leaders are supposed to release a health care overhaul plan at some point today, Majority Leader Steve Scalise said.

But the House GOP— like the Senate — has been divided on the issue of expiring enhanced Affordable Care Act subsidies. The subsidies will expire at the end of the month unless Congress acts, exacerbating a rise in premiums for many Americans.
