For too long, people living with dementia and their caregivers have endured a fragmented care experience, lacking guidance, disease education and training, and subsidized support to navigate the complex health and long-term care systems after diagnosis. An estimated 7.2 million people live with Alzheimer’s disease and related dementias in the US. That number is expected to rise to 13.8 million by 2060. Without a more robust and coordinated system of care, people living with dementia, their families, providers, and communities will struggle to meet the increasing demand for physical, mental, and financial support. But there is a glimmer of hope.
