The last few days have been dizzying for parents trying to do the right thing to protect their child. On Monday, the CDC updated the childhood immunizations schedule, moving several vaccines out of the ‘routine for all kids’ category and into ‘shared clinical decision-making’ or ‘high-risk only’ groupings. Meanwhile, the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) says its recommendations have not changed and encourages parents to continue giving their children vaccines against the illness federal guidance just reclassified.
