Enhancing Privacy and Security in Genomic Health Data Exchange
Abstract
Genomic information comes to the forefront of precision medicine but with the pressing concerns of privacy and security owing to the sensitive, immutable nature of the information. This article presents a decentralized blockchain-based platform based on Zero-Knowledge Proofs (ZKPs) to facilitate secure, privacy-preserving sharing of genomic information. The platform adopts a hybrid approach offering storage of genomic information off-chain using InterPlanetary File System (IPFS) and keeping metadata and access control on-chain.
