Eight in 10 Americans said their lives have been disrupted a great deal or a fair amount by the coronavirus pandemic, a web-conducted Gallup survey released Tuesday shows.

The percentage of Americans surveyed who said they are experiencing a great or fair amount of disruption is up from 56 percent in mid-March. The latest poll is based on interviews conducted between March 30 and April 2. Since the last poll, nearly every state has issued stay-at-home orders and businesses and schools have shut down across the country.

Fewer respondents — 19 percent — now say they believe the disruptions will continue for “a few more weeks,” down from 37 percent a few weeks ago.
