Several hospitals and health systems have reported cybersecurity incidents that have led to compromised patient data and IT systems during May.

Here are seven cybersecurity incidents as reported by Becker’s during May.

  1. A hospital employee from Winter Haven (Fla.) Hospital inadvertently attached a file to a patient email that exposed the data of thousands of other patients.
  2. On May 1, Antonio, Texas-based CentroMed said it detected unusual activity in its IT network. An investigation into the incident confirmed that an unauthorized user gained access to the organization’s IT network in April.
