Total joint replacements are becoming more common in the outpatient surgery center as technology advances, pain management improves and organizations build an infrastructure around recovering at home.

Medicare coverage policies and commercial payer reimbursements to allow for total hip, knee and shoulder replacements in the ASC have driven more cases into the outpatient setting as well.
