Patrick McHenry, a former Republican congressman for North Carolina, led efforts to enact some of the most consequential cryptocurrency policies during the tail end of his 20-year tenure on the Hill. While serving as chair of the House Financial Services Committee, he ushered in the first framework for regulating digital asset markets. He currently serves as a senior adviser at venture capital firm Andreessen Horowitz. McHenry talks to us about his efforts to pass stablecoin legislation and the need for a definition of digital assets.
