Fewer Medicare Advantage plans received ratings below 3-stars for 2025 compared to 2024.

CMS published star rating data for 2025 on Oct. 10.

In 2024, 50 plans received ratings below 3-stars. Star ratings determine whether plans are eligible for quality bonus payments from CMS. Plans are rated at the contract level.

The average star rating for 2025 was 3.92 for 2025, down from 4.07 in 2024. Only seven plans received 5-star ratings for 2025.
