By February 2024, 23% of U.S. adults had used ChatGPT, with adoption rates reaching 43% among those aged 18-29. Globally, ChatGPT’s user base expanded rapidly, with over 200 million weekly users by August 2024, doubling from the previous November. However, ChatGPT is not the sole player in the large language model space. Competitors like Anthropic’s Claude, Meta’s Llama, Google’s Bard, and Baidu’s ERNIE bot have emerged, each offering unique features and carving out their niches in diverse industries.
