Many colleges and universities launched nursing programs and partnerships last year to address persistent shortages nationwide. Here are 135 nursing programs that launched or expanded in 2022:

  1. Danville, Pa.-based Geisinger College of Health Sciences will use a $2.5 million state Redevelopment Assistance Capital Program grant to renovate its School of Nursing in Lewistown, Pa., and double its nursing program.
  2. Hattiesburg-based University of Southern Mississippi College of Nursing and Health Professionals received a $100,000 grant to expand its nursing program to include more diversity, inclusion and equity when working with patients.
  3. Fayetteville (N.C.) Technical Community College is expanding its nursing program with mannequins that can simulate various illnesses.
