As digital health funding breaks another record in 2021, many experts are asking, “What bubble?”

Coming off of almost two years of a global pandemic that has changed how consumers and clinicians seek and provide health care services, it’s not surprising to see continued growth in the digital health sector. And with health data now largely digitized thanks to electronic health records (EHRs), information blocking rules breaking down walled gardens, and increasing consumer acceptance and demand for digital-first health solutions, it is likely that this growth trajectory will continue in 2022, which brings up an important question: are we in the middle of the digital health bubble?
