Leading health systems from across the country such as Stanford Health Care and Mayo Clinic have pledged to use Epic’s software to share health information with the Trusted Exchange Framework and Common Agreement.

Under the agreement, the health systems will join TEFCA, a health information exchange framework that is a part of the 21st Century Cures Act, according to a May 22 press release from Epic. Passed in 2016, the act aims to establish a nationwide EHR exchange.
