Top health IT developers and providers from across the country joined the ONC’s Sync for Science (S4S) Pilot Project to support patient-directed sharing of health information with research using a standards-based API.

Four health IT developers and six providers participants in the Sync for Science (S4S) Pilot Project for Precision Medicine learned how to develop and implement the necessary patient-facing application programming interfaces (APIs) that enable patients to coordinate their care through a third-party app, the Office of the National Coordinator for Health IT said in a new report.
