RSNA partnered with Carequality and The Sequoia Project to improve the guidelines for imaging data exchange.

The Radiological Society of North America (RSNA), Carequality, and the Sequoia Project, have developed an Imaging Data Exchange Implementation Guide Supplement to improve the technical standards that support the exchange of medical images.

This guide builds on the Carequality Interoperability Framework, which gives network-based access to medical images to fix current efficiency, safety, and quality issues when exchanging medical images. These images are usually exchanged mostly on CDs and DVDs, causing delays, inconveniences, and unwanted expenses, such as having to re-produce images.
