Virginia Commonwealth University Medical Center’s implementation of aggressive, bundled multilevel infection prevention measures resulted in a tenfold decrease in SARS-CoV-2 transmission in the health care setting.
Although Virginia Commonwealth University Medical Center (VCUMC) minimized health care worker infections and exposures through the first and second waves of Covid-19, the arrival of the much larger third wave of Covid-19 sparked a substantial surge in cases.
