There is a cyberattack every 11 seconds globally costing business $6 trillion annually, especially by a growing legion of hackers who see hospitals as easy targets. When cyberattacks disrupt patient services, the costs can be greater than just monetary.

“Ransomware does have a significant impact on the death of patients,” said speaker Dr. Benoit Desjardins, Ph.D., professor of radiology at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania, during an RSNA session titled “Cybersecurity for Radiology Practices”.
