It’s no secret that many health systems aren’t always fans of hospital comparison websites.

Among some of the top sources of information to earn their ire: U.S. News & World Report. The Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services’ star ratings, the Leapfrog Group and Healthgrades.

In a blog posted Wednesday on NEJM Catalyst, a health care delivery publication from the New England Journal of Medicine, a group of methodology experts from both academic health centers and the private sector decided to examine some of the top grading systems.

And, of course, they decided to give out some of their own grades.
