Former Sutter Health interoperability exec talks about why he is excited about TEFCA, upcoming NPRM on information blocking

Steven Lane, M.D., M.P.H, recently left his position as clinical informatics director at Sutter Health in California to become chief medical officer at Health Gorilla, a company that is seeking to become one of the initial Qualified Health Information Networks (QHINs) under the Trusted Exchange Framework and Common Agreement (TEFCA). Lane also sits on the Office of the National Coordinator’s Health IT Advisory Committee (HITAC). He recently spoke to Healthcare Innovation about TEFCA and a few of Health Gorilla’s recent announcements, including adding pharmacy data and a survey it conducted on the industry-wide state of interoperability.
