According to Axios, in a breaking news post, Inside the start of the great virus airlift, “millions of gloves, 130,000 N95 masks, 1.7 million surgical masks” and more personal protective equipment (PPE) landed in New York on Sunday, March 29 as part of a federal airlift mission, coordinated with the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA).

The hope is that this first shipment and 22 similar flights over the next two weeks, a little over one per day, to different parts of the country, can help quell the urgent need for PPE.
